Awesome dude Sketch#307

Hey all! Sarah here this morning to share with you my take on Sketch #307

This sketch was fun for me. I did go through and do a few things different, like only doing 2 photos instead of 3,I went a little bigger with some of the strips and instead of just strips I decided to add some cut-files and back them with some great paper from Crate papers, Cool kid collection.

I did a large, blocked area like in the sketch, behind my photos. I only had 2 photos that I wanted to use so I went through my ephemera pack for this collection and the chipboard sheet and pulled things out that I wanted to use. I liked the goofy Wild thing tag, with my boy and me being goofy and him having his little Mohawk, I thought it was appropriate lol. So thats where I started. Then I moved on to backing my cut-files and laying them down where I wanted them. I wanted to add some more dimension, so I popped the orange cut-file strip up on 3D adhesive. Then I moved on to adding my embellishments.

All those little things I had collected in the beginning, I started playing with and layering them where it showed the clusters in the sketch, But instead of different sized stars, I used the cool chipboard camera and some little ephemera pieces and then added a few of the little sequin stars from the collection.

My little guy isn't so little anymore, so I wanted to add this ruler as on of the strips, kind of marking the fact that hes growing up and getting bigger. Then I popped down my little, Awesome dude title and a few more sequin stars around and was done. I was surprised at myself, not using splatters anywhere, but I thought it might just be to busy with them. lol.
I hope you play along with us and have fun with it!

My fav' By Christine Beuzit - Sktech #307

Hello Creatives,
Here I am with Sketch #307!
I decided to use only one photo and to place it in the middle.
I also decideD that I would work on my background by creating a diagonal starting from the stars of the sketch. So I used texture paste, stamps and a stickers both at the bottom left-hand  and top right-hand corners of my page. That creates a symetry and the stars draw the attention to the central photo which I have framed.

I really love those giant cork stars!!!

Then I added some others stamps on the page, stuck a few embellishments ant that was it!
As usual, the sketch really makes it all, no need to have tons of element to make your picture stand out!

As usual, here are some sneaks!

Can't wait to discover your creations!
Love from France
Christine.

Rad | Majken Pullin, Sketch 307

Hello Creative Scrappers, and happy Friday.  I'm so glad you joined us today!  This month's sketch can go so many directions, and I opted to modify it just a bit by using a striped background as my base to keep the theme of the strips of papers.  Here's my take using Cocoa Vanilla's You Rock collection - it has such fun colors!  And they go great with photos of my son riding his new bicycle.

I cut a few strips of the patterned papers to put some color on the gray and white striped background, and I sewed along a few of them.  I even sewed along one of the die cut ephemera pieces.

I flicked some mists for a bit of color, using Heidi Swapp Mustard Color Shine, Mister Huey's Real Red, and CTMH Pacifica reinker.

I used one of the journaling squares to create my third square area.

I matted my photos with a few squares of patterned paper, and then layered two chipboard sticker frames on top.  Then I popped both the photos up with some foam tape.

For my title, I use the Outline Alpha from The Cut Shoppe and welded the letters together.  Then I backed them with the blue patterned paper.  I added my journaling underneath the title.

I used more ephemera and chipboard pieces around the page to add extra interest.

Don't be afraid to rotate or add your own personality to the sketch in a fun way!  Our sponsor this month is Altenew, and I have my eye on their new alphabet die set...all the heart eyes!  Can't wait until it is back in stock.
